Applied Linguistics: Speech, Prosody and Multimodal Approaches to Sustainable Language Education

We offer strong expertise in applied linguistics, with a particular focus on speech and prosody analysis, pronunciation, multimodal communication and second language learning. Our research group works with oral and written corpora of European languages and investigates prosodic competence, multimodal discourse, and spoken communication in academic, professional and media contexts.
We also specialise in bilingual and CLIL education, teacher training, feedback literacy and instructional design in technology-enhanced learning environments. Our work includes the analysis of multimodal corpora of commercials and advertisements, studies on L2 oral development, and the creation of innovative and inclusive digital learning resources.
In addition, we explore how language education can foster civic engagement, intercultural awareness and socially sustainable learning environments, with a focus on equity, participation and responsible communication.
