Molecular Plant Pathologist

I am an Associate Professor at Universiti Putra Malaysia advancing knowledge of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense Tropical Race 4 (TR4), soil‑microbiome biocontrol, and host–pathogen interactions. Integrating molecular diagnostics, functional genomics, and ecological approaches, I characterise SIX effectors and mating‑type loci, use comparative genomics and CRISPR/Cas9 to uncover gene function, and profile rhizosphere communities to pinpoint beneficial microbes such as Trichoderma spp. for sustainable disease management. My research has yielded more than 50 peer‑reviewed publications, attracted national and international funding, and guided many postgraduate students. Collaborative networks span Malaysia, Indonesia, and Japan, and I regularly serve as reviewer and invited speaker in international plant pathology-related conferences. I welcome partnerships focused on effector biology, microbiome‑based biocontrol, rapid diagnostics, and climate‑resilient crop protection.
