About
EvoAdapta Research Group (Human Evolution and Adaptations during Prehistory) invites applications from outstanding researchers for the highly competitive Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship (MSCA-PF) 2025. We seek candidates passionate about human evolution and past adaptive strategies to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team.
Who we are
EvoAdapta is a multidisciplinary research group on Prehistory with extensive experience in Bioarchaeology, European research projects and talent attraction with highly competitive calls. Since 2012, Prof. Ana Belén Marín-Arroyo has pioneered bioarchaeological research at the University of Cantabria and founded EvoAdapta in 2019. We stand out for:

Leading an ERC Consolidator Grant (€2M) and five MSCA Grants (CIG, GF, 3 IF).

Research lines available
Our research addresses fundamental questions about hominin subsistence and environmental adaptation during the Late Pleistocene and Holocene periods. Our main research topics are:

Study of human evolution from anthropological, cognitive, technological, and artistic perspectives.

Reconstruction of past climatic and environmental conditions through multidisciplinary techniques.

Analysis of subsistence strategies and lifeways of human groups during the Pleistocene and early Holocene.

EvoAdapta’s fully equipped laboratory provides:

A complete osteotheque and specialized library.

A clean room for collagen extraction and advanced chemical analyses (proteomics & stable isotopes).

Photogrammetry, microscopy, and archaeological material processing facilities.
