About
IRCEM – Institute for Research in Circular Economy and Environment “Ernest Lupan”, Romania, seeks partners to jointly develop research and innovation projects supporting the transition towards circular and resource-efficient healthcare.
The proposed collaboration focuses on three areas:
• Applying circular economy principles to healthcare facilities and services.
• Preventing waste and improving the management and traceability of healthcare materials and consumables.
• Improving the efficient use of materials, energy and water in hospitals.
IRCEM’s proposed role includes developing circularity assessment methodologies, defining resource-efficiency indicators, assessing environmental impacts and identifying opportunities for improvement. Life cycle assessment (LCA) and sustainability indicators could support the comparison of proposed solutions and evaluation of project results.
We are looking for hospitals and healthcare providers, research organisations, digital technology developers and partners specialising in waste and resource management. Technology partners would contribute the digital tools, while healthcare organisations would help define practical needs and potential pilot settings.
Our goal is to develop joint project proposals combining digital innovation with measurable improvements in resource efficiency, waste prevention and environmental sustainability.
