Point-of-Care Biosensor for Rapid Detection of Hyperkalemia Risk
CEO at RENALYSE
Reus, Spain
About
Current clinical pathways for these conditions depend on centralized laboratory testing, which introduces delays that can critically impact decision-making in emergency care, primary care, and chronic disease management. There is a strong unmet need for fast, decentralized, and reliable diagnostics that enable immediate clinical action at the point of care. Renalyse is developing a biosensor platform capable of analyzing small-volume blood samples and delivering rapid, actionable results in near real time.
The solution is designed to combine high analytical performance with usability and scalability across multiple healthcare environments, including hospitals, ambulances, outpatient clinics, and potentially remote care settings. We are actively looking for partners to complete a strong multidisciplinary consortium, including expertise in:
-
Clinical trials and validation of diagnostic medical devices
-
Industrial manufacturing and scale-up of microfluidic and biosensor technologies
-
Software development, mobile applications, and digital health integration.
-
Artificial intelligence and clinical decision support systems in healthcare
The objective is to advance from early-stage development to clinically validated prototype and prepare for regulatory and translational pathways within European funding frameworks. Through this collaboration, we aim to accelerate the adoption of rapid point-of-care diagnostics, improve early detection of critical conditions, and enhance healthcare efficiency and patient outcomes across Europe.
