Turn-key integrator; Integrated Modular Avionics; Critical Software for aircraft and helicopters; Development of flight control and flight simulators

GMV is a consultancy, engineering, software development and turn-key systems integrator for the aerospace and defence sectors. The GMV’s Centre of Excellence for Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) targets innovative avionics systems and was awarded a Clean Sky project worth 1.8 M€, in consortia with Zodiac, Dassault and Airbus. GMV works with Airbus DS since 90´s and integrates many aeronautical programmes:

  • Critical software development: Key role in A330-MRTT and A330-FSTA projects, certification of A400M Audio Management System, on-board software for Tiger and NH-90 helicopters.

  • Flight Simulators: Software development for Eurofighter, CN-235, C-295, A400M and A330 MRTT/FSTA simulators, ranging from full flight simulators, part task trainers or desktop trainers.

  • Systems and Equipment: Partner in UAV ATLANTE for Flight Control Computer and Automatic Take-off and Landing system.

  • Flight Physics: Airbus DS partners for engineering services in flight physics.

LusoSpace has a multidisciplinary team of top-level engineers specialising in electronics, mechanics, optical systems and software development. The team covers the entire life cycle of advanced technological systems and components, from design and development to prototyping, testing and integration, for complex problems.

Since 2002, our main focus has been the space sector and highly critical systems. To date, we have delivered hardware for over 30 missions, accumulating more than 300 months of spaceflight time, with a zero-failure record. Our areas of expertise include AOCS, optoelectronics, optical communications, electronics, mechanics, embedded software, and augmented reality systems for space and other industries.

LusoSpace is developing a VDES (VHF Data Exchange System) 12 satellite constellation to enhance maritime communications worldwide. These satellites are also equipped with AIS (Automatic Identification System), which will contribute to maritime situational awareness for stakeholders both on shore and at sea.
