We, the Agricultural University of Athens, are a leading institution dedicated to advancing knowledge and research in the field of agriculture and related sciences, with particular strength in nutrition and food science. Through our participation in the PIMENTO COST Action, our Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition is mapping fermented food consumption patterns across European regions, building the scientific evidence base for how traditional fermentation practices contribute to modern health, sustainability, and dietary diversity.​

Our mission is to promote sustainable agricultural practices and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that address current global challenges, from farm to fork to human health. As partners in major European nutrition initiatives, we bridge agricultural innovation with nutritional epidemiology to create actionable insights for food security and public health.​
