The Knowledge Center Digital Business and Media stands for the mission-driven task of the digital transition. We focus on innovation in organizations and individuals. The focus is specifically on research in which human-oriented digitalization is central: shaping digitalization and the use of data in a way that does justice to people, organizations and society. We want as many people as possible to benefit from digitalization and to come up with solutions together that are valuable (sustainable, safe and meaningful) for society. Researchers and students design applications (products, services and methods) using data. They are designed in such a way that they match the needs and interests of individuals, the professional field and society. Within the lectorates in the knowledge centre, research focuses on the challenges around four themes: Digital Skills, Responsible Applied AI, Smart Responsible Organisations and AI & Digital Culture. The Organizations in Digital Transition lab investigates how Digital Transformation influences organizations and employees, how digital transition can be used to serve employees and the organization, and how we can prepare and support organizations and people in successful change processes in digital transition. The Process innovation & information systems lab investigates how digitalization can add value to organizations. Innovations such as cloud computing, big data, blockchain and e-business are emerging at a rapid pace. How do you respond to these technological innovations as a commercial or non-profit organization? In doing so, the lectorate pays extra attention to process management and the use of information systems and insight/expertise regarding the necessary digital leadership skills and ICT professional skills in this regard.
