About

  • Obtaining cold in the field requires energy costs. This problem can be solved in two ways.

The first of them involves the installation of power plants in the field. Harvesting berries and fruits is usually carried out in summer and autumn when there is enough solar energy for the operation of photovoltaic panels. Therefore, for the production of ice, we propose to use freezers powered by energy from solar panels. In this case, the chambers should be provided with cold at night. Currently, expensive electric batteries are used for this. We propose to produce ice in freezers in the form of pipes and rods during the day, accumulate it, and at night cool the berries and fruits with the ice produced during the day. When installing solar panels in the field, there is a need to store them or use them in the winter.

The second way to provide cold to chambers for temporary storage of berries and fruits is that the production of ice in freezers in the form of pipes and rods proposed by us is carried out where there is a constant supply of electricity. Ice is produced and stored in accumulators, which are transported to the place of collection of berries and fruits. Then this ice is used for cooling around the clock.

Melting ice provides temperatures in the range of 2-5 degrees Celsius. To produce 1 ton of ice in a freezer, 40-60 kWh of electricity is required. The cost of storing 1 kWh of electricity in the form of ice is no more than $0.15-0.20, excluding energy management.
