Supporting Sustainable Construction with Seashell-Based Materials

Full Professor at UPPA - LFCR/MPPM - Valocoq Project

About

We provide expert support to municipalities, public bodies, and industry partners in implementing innovative, low-carbon construction solutions based on recycled seashell materials. Inspired by biomimicry, these materials combine durability, performance, and reduced environmental impact.

Our service covers the full process, from identifying local resources and defining project needs to integrating materials into existing construction practices. By leveraging circular economy principles, we help reduce raw material extraction and carbon emissions while promoting locally sourced solutions.

Our approach has already been validated through real industrial and pre-industrial applications, ensuring both technical reliability and scalability. We work closely with stakeholders to tailor solutions that meet regulatory, environmental, and operational constraints.
