About
Yeşilay is a well-established non-governmental organization founded in 1920 to combat addiction and nurture healthy generations. Since its establishment, Yeşilay has been working to protect society’s physical, mental, and social health, actively fighting against alcohol, tobacco, substance, gambling, and technology addictions. In this scope, it carries out prevention, awareness, rehabilitation, and advocacy activities to help individuals stay away from addictions and adopt healthy lifestyle habits.
With over 120 branches across Turkey, Yeşilay aims to reach all segments of society while also maintaining its role as a global actor in addiction prevention through the International Green Crescent Federation, which operates in more than 80 countries. Through Yeşilay Counseling Centers (YEDAM), it provides free psychosocial support services to individuals struggling with addiction and their families, contributing to their recovery process.
Playing a pioneering role in the fight against addiction, Yeşilay leads educational programs, workshops, youth projects, campaigns, scientific research, and policy development initiatives. It collaborates with government institutions, academia, civil society organizations, and the private sector to create comprehensive and sustainable solutions for reducing addiction. To raise awareness and promote a healthy lifestyle culture, Yeşilay organizes various events, sports activities, and artistic initiatives, continuing its mission to make addiction prevention a way of life.
