Barcelona Children’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu (HSJD) is Spain’s leading paediatric hospital and the third largest in the EU by volume. As a nonprofit center of excellence, it provides world-class healthcare for children and pregnant mothers, specializing in complex conditions and rare diseases, including pediatric cancer, metabolic and neurodegenerative disorders, congenital heart disease, and fetal medicine. The hospital delivers cutting-edge, specialized care through: 1) precision diagnostics for accurate, personalized treatments; 2) advanced therapies, including Spain’s first pediatric CAR-T therapy, oncolytic virus, and antibody therapies for solid tumors, and 3) AI & Data Analytics via CORTEX, predicting outcomes in critical and rare diseases, including cardiac risk, sepsis, and respiratory failure. Additionally, HSJD fosters strong national and international partnerships and is a founding member of ECHO, the European network of leading children's hospitals. 

The Sant Joan de Déu Research Institute (IRSJD) is a cutting-edge biomedical research and innovation center. Established in 2015 through a strategic collaboration between HSJD, the University of Barcelona, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Parc Sanitari Sant Joan de Déu, and the Sant Joan de Déu Research Foundation, the IRSJD became a CERCA center of the Generalitat de Catalunya in 2020.
