IDRA is an independent research institute. We create solutions to democratize our societies and economies. One of the main problems of our era is that people feel increasingly disempowered, especially as they have less and less control over key basic resources, such as housing, food, water and energy. This increases inequality and fosters the growth of fear, hatred and extremism. Against this backdrop, at IDRA we do research to strengthen our democracies in a broad sense: by producing new data and narratives; by strengthening social institutions; by establishing new regulatory frameworks and public-community alliances. We understand research as a networked practice that allows a better understanding of urban reality in order to intervene and transform it.
