Rooted in circular Design, Origami, and Geometry (DOG) , CATs&DOG reduce emissions, waste, and construction costs while enabling resilience across diverse environments.
We are building toward a future where 1 in every 3 people living in slums and facing the climate crisis is not an option. Our mission is to form cross-sector international R&D partnerships to develop and scale CATs&DOG globally—transforming the construction sector through radical collaboration and disruptive innovation.
From slums on Earth to settlements on the Moon, we are redefining what it means to build for people and planet.
About me
Omid Hajishirmohammadi is an architect and expat entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in design and construction. He built his first structure as a sophomore and co-founded a cooperative construction company, rebuilding 17 homes after an earthquake—all before graduating. With 11 years of experience as CEO of a development and construction firm, Omid successfully exited in 2013.
Since then, he has dedicated the last 11 years to developing a visionary initiative focused on Circular Architectural Techniques (CATs)—a disruptive innovation to transform global housing through scalable, sustainable, and locally adapted solutions. In 2020, he founded 4 OMID, which evolved into 4 Earth 2 Mars Holding B.V. in 2023.
Omid’s mission is to form cross-sector, radical international R&D partnerships to scale CATs globally over the next decade. His approach is rooted in radical collaboration for system change, combining architecture, digital technology, and circular design for Earth—and beyond. His work has already gained interest from Autodesk Foundation, Climate-KIC, and Rabobank.
