Placemaking for Beautiful, Inclusive, and Resilient Neighbourhoods | Aks Creative Hub
About
Aks Creative Hub is looking for partners for three NEB-related Horizon Europe calls focusing on the transformation of neighbourhoods through placemaking, inclusive design, and social innovation. We are particularly interested in:
-
The impact of common spaces on communities
-
Beautiful, sustainable, inclusive street furniture
-
Fostering the social fabric for the green transition
Our placemaking approach centers on collaboration, contextual understanding, and participatory transformation. We believe in the power of process over product, emphasizing the lived experiences of communities and the latent potential of space. For us, placemaking is not merely spatial—it’s social, emotional, and cultural.
Aks aks is a strategic design studio and architectural association working in the creative industries. While producing focus in the field of creative industries in the context of design, architecture, and planning, it develops sustainable solutions, strategies, and projects with research and gamification methods by rethinking cities at different scales concerning its social impact. Aks is an official partner of New European Bauhaus and member of European Creative Hubs Network.
**
Aks** has led award-winning placemaking projects involving diverse stakeholders from architecture, civil society, academia, and local government. We actively work with communities to design, reclaim, and reimagine public spaces, ensuring they are beautiful, inclusive, and sustainable, in full alignment with New European Bauhaus values.
We bring:
-
Experience in bottom-up spatial transformation, community co-design, and civic engagement
-
Strong interdisciplinary networks across urban design, arts, social sciences, architecture, and cultural institutions
-
A deep understanding of urban dynamics, particularly in neighbourhoods undergoing rapid social and ecological change
-
Capacity for pilot implementation, qualitative research, and stakeholder coordination
We are seeking partners who are aligned with NEB principles and interested in building transnational consortia for Horizon Europe calls. Let’s co-create transformative spaces together.
