About
Formulation and fabrication of geopolymer concretes/foams derived from industrial by-products (slag, fly ash) and residues (stone waste, nuclear waste) for structural, insulating, fire-resistance and water waste treatment (TRL5).
Formulation of geopolymer-based materials for additive manufacturing.
Development and optimisation of laser-induced smart surface functionalisation processes of metals, polymers, ceramics, and composites with material addition (micro cladding, LIFT) and without material addition (DLW, DLIP), laser-induced chemical surface, melting and displacement of the keyhole (Surfi-Sculpt, WO 2004/028731 A1), and roll-to-roll process (surface patter transfer) to alter and control optical, wettability, biological, thermal, and tribological properties.
AM facilities and equipment for the development and validation of sustainable processes and technologies. Robotized, automated, and fully digitalised infrastructure for different materials (composite, metals & cements).
Life Cycle Environmental / Social assessment and Life cycle costs considering different End-of-Life scenarios. Application of SSbD criteria to construction environment**.**
