About
Project summary:
Background: Today's times are filled with frequent crises that come unexpectedly due to a variety of reasons and affect people's quality of life (e.g., the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and floods and storms, international tensions, economic turbulence). The way in which society copes with these events is usually studied at the level of states or macro-regions. However, people respond to external inputs at the local level as well.
Approach: Therefore, in our project, we want to focus on the combination of variability of aspects impacting local resilience. These are mainly economic, social, health, and planning processes at places. In our analysis, we want to use the framework of the New European Bauhaus, which sees the planning process in terms of environmental sustainability, stakeholder inclusiveness, beauty and functionality of the solution.
Methods: (We need to discuss, I can imagine a survey with some statistical tests, PLSM-SEM, but I am open to your suggestions.)
Impacts: In the area of research, we expect to see an impact in the form of the publication of articles dealing with the complexity and combination of different approaches to resilience.
We see an opportunity to intensify the application of NEB principles in construction management.
