(Semi-)automatic detection of inner development building potentials
Professor at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences | Hochschule RheinMain
Wiesbaden, Germany
About
Inner development is a prime strategy of sustainable urban development. Municipalities are often unaware of the quantitative dimension of such potentials on their territory, and hence develop greenfield sites more often than necessary.
New tools, also supported by AI, are necessary to (semi)automatically detect and quantify such potentials in (open) municipal geodata as well as aerial images.
I would be glad to join a consortium working on this topic, particularly relevant in HORIZON-NEB-2025-01-REGEN-03, also in a comparative perspective between countries. I can offer several years of experience with the topic at different institutions, evidenced by publications, presentations and teaching formats.
