the CORK project
About
Cork and its derivates has a long tradition in medeteranian zones. Beside the collection and use of cork, we are especially looking at the origine of cultivaition and the context in which cork is cultivated for future resistent forest plantations. So our aim with the current project is to experimente an develop new applications in construction and design contexts, as well as to experiment with the combination of more natural materials as cermamic, natural fibres or wood. In cooporation with the catalan cork institute, the cork industry of Catalunya and universities we will continue a dialogue and process based project, which highlight new applications with cork. The project will guided by Domestic-Wild and associated university partners and will be presented at the end of summer semester at a design festival. Themes and locations will be determined as soon as partners and schedules are defined.
