We develop existing building types towards climate resilient, regenerative, inclusive, healthy and high-performance buildings and open spaces. We have an expertise in building typology, design methods and research and practical application through spatial interventions in public spaces of the city.

Our typological approach offers great transferability of projects. Building types such as parking garages in transformation due to changes in mobility habits or empty retail spaces exist in many different places in Europe. We have a strong local expertise on the contextual forces driving these processes and are looking forward to sharing them end exchanging ideas across various countries and contexts.

With our design expertise we focus on the process as well as on the results - both under research and applicability perspectives. We developed several tools for research by interdisciplinary design, which we have tested successfully in various projects at RWTH Aachen University.

Hands-on design-build projects are substantial part of our practice of teaching and research. We have realized various projects in different scales in urban and remote contexts. We are especially experienced in handling building regulations in Germany, in dense urban areas where we works with city governments ans local administration to realize ideas for the built environment.

And finally we are part of a large network of related technical disciplines at RWTH Aachen, where we have worked with colleagues who specialize on climate modeling, transformative research or healthy living spaces.
