Community‑Driven Innovation for Sustainable Cultural Tourism
RDI-expert at Centria University of Applied Sciences

About
We are interested in connecting with others who explore how hidden and often overlooked cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, can become a resource for regenerative experiences, community‑driven place branding, and resilient and sustainable tourism. We want to focus on lesser‑known places and landscapes, as well as traditions, skills, practices, stories and everyday cultural knowledge rooted in local communities but rarely mobilised in current tourism and place‑branding approaches.
We are keen to exchange perspectives with actors interested in community‑driven and participatory approaches, integrating tangible and intangible heritage, experience‑based and regenerative tourism models, innovative place branding, co‑creation and Living Lab methods, digital storytelling, inclusive participation, and the ethical and responsible application of AI‑supported tools in heritage and tourism contexts.
Our aim is to build connections and explore shared research and development interests with researchers, cultural and creative sector actors, public authorities and SMEs.
We are working towards co‑developing a Horizon Europe Cluster 2 proposal, with a specific interest in collaborations aligned with
HORIZON‑CL2‑2027‑01‑HERITAGE‑06: Future‑proofing sustainable cultural tourism.
