Civil Society & Climate Advocacy Expert for Global Climate Governance Research

A Sud Ecologia e Cooperazione APS is an Italian environmental justice organisation with documented experience at the science-society-policy interface of global climate governance. We are seeking consortium partners for DEMOCRACY-06, Area A: Climate Governance.

Why A Sud is a required partner, not just a useful one: The call text explicitly names civil society and advocacy experts with hands-on experience as a necessary component of the consortium — this is a compliance condition, not a recommendation. A Sud directly satisfies it.

Our relevant expertise:

• Climate justice advocacy and strategic litigation: We are a core civil society party in Giudizio Universale, the Italian climate litigation case against the Italian state. This is direct experience with international climate governance processes and the science-policy interface at the highest level.

• ENI Observatory: We run a structured civil society monitoring initiative tracking the activities of a major fossil fuel company — concrete experience in linking corporate accountability to international climate commitments.

• CAN Europe membership: As a full member of Climate Action Network Europe, we operate within the transnational civil society ecosystem that interfaces with UNFCCC processes, EU climate diplomacy, and European science-policy institutions.

• Community-level participation: We work with urban peripheral communities in Rome, documenting how global climate decisions translate — or fail to translate — into local adaptation realities.
