Contributing to consortium on HORIZON-CL2-2027-01-HERITAGE-03: Crafting routes to a circular economy

Professor, Head of EURDATA (Data Science) Department at Institute of Urban and Regional Development

Warsaw/Cracow, Poland

About

Our contribution focuses on the intersection of cultural heritage, urban/regional development, and circular economy transitions, supported by advanced data science and socio-economic analysis. We bring extensive experience in EU-funded projects (Horizon Europe, ERA-Net), including work on citizen science, co-creation, and policy-relevant research for sustainable and resilient cities.

We offer strong capabilities in:

  • data-driven mapping and analysis of circular practices in heritage-related sectors (including cultural and creative industries),

  • assessment of socio-economic and environmental impacts of circular economy models applied to heritage and place-based assets,

  • integration of spatial and urban data to identify territorial potentials for circular value chains,

  • design and implementation of participatory and citizen science approaches to support behavioural change and stakeholder engagement,

  • evaluation frameworks and indicators aligned with EU policy priorities (e.g. circular economy, New European Bauhaus, cohesion policy).

We are particularly interested in contributing to:

  • identifying and scaling innovative circular business and governance models linked to cultural heritage,

  • analysing territorial and social conditions enabling circular transitions,

  • supporting evidence-based policy recommendations for cities, regions, and cultural ecosystems.

EURDATA combines strong analytical capacity with practical experience in working with public authorities and stakeholders, ensuring that project results are both scientifically robust and policy-relevant. We aim to support the consortium in delivering actionable pathways towards a circular economy rooted in cultural heritage and local development.
