APPJuventude – Portuguese Association of Youth Workers

APPJuventude – Portuguese Association of Youth Workers is a national non-profit civil society organisation established in 2018. We advance professional youth work, meaningful youth participation and evidence-informed youth policy, working with municipalities, metropolitan areas, intermunicipal communities, civil society organisations, youth workers and young people across Portugal.

For New European Bauhaus projects, APPJuventude can lead or co-lead work on:

• youth and resident engagement;

• participatory research, co-design and non-formal education;

• municipal and intermunicipal living labs;

• inclusion of rural, peripheral and outermost territories;

• capacity building for public authorities and youth professionals;

• testing, evaluation, policy uptake and dissemination.

Relevant experience includes Youth Monitor, developed with the Porto Metropolitan Area and European municipal and university partners; CRJ+, a national intermunicipal cooperation initiative for youth participation and youth policy; RUP Youth Labs, focused on youth participation and civic innovation in the EU outermost regions; POP-UP! and AGENTS, involving municipalities and local youth ecosystems; and MindCraft, connecting youth work, inclusion and mental well-being.

APPJuventude offers direct access to Portuguese municipal and intermunicipal ecosystems, experienced youth workers, participatory methodologies and territorial pilot settings. We are interested in joining strong Horizon Europe consortia as a funded partner with defined tasks and budget, especially for co-creation, neighbourhood engagement, youth participation, living labs, capacity building and translation of project results into local public policy.
