As an applied research institute, we develop innovative, digital solutions for the complex challenges of a sustainable future. Our expertise lies in the field of information and communication technologies for the analysis, evaluation and utilisation of data in the core competencies of mobility, sport, health and energy. Our aim is to work together with forward-looking companies and the public sector to generate both economic and social added value. We create software prototypes, conduct field studies and evaluate technologies to help organizations make informed decisions about their future digital business.

Our department of Innovation and Value Creation focuses on how data-driven innovations are changing the economy and society. They help solve problems, increase efficiency and develop new products and services. The Internet of Things, low-cost sensor technology, the generation of “digital natives” and a sustainable lifestyle are important drivers of innovation. We use effective methods to examine operational success factors, added value and strategies for IoT-based innovations for companies in different market segments. We support companies in the analysis of innovation potential and the selection, implementation and evaluation of innovative projects and business models, such as through:
