HOBIVERSE / Sostinės vaikų ir jaunimo centras is a non-formal education organisation located in Vilnius, Lithuania, working with children, young people, families, adults and wider educational communities. Our activities combine education, creativity, participation, youth engagement, community work and lifelong learning.
We have long-standing experience in developing and implementing educational programmes, local and international projects, community-based activities, events, training and cross-sector cooperation. Our organisation works at the intersection of education, youth participation, public value and urban community life.
In the context of the New European Bauhaus Facility, HOBIVERSE is interested in developing the project idea “Civic Stages” — transforming underused neighbourhood public spaces into places for learning, voice and belonging. Our starting point is a concrete outdoor amphitheatre and surrounding public space next to HOBIVERSE in Vilnius, which has the potential to become a more inclusive, climate-sensitive and community-oriented public space.
We are looking for European partners interested in co-creating and testing innovative approaches for the spatial design of neighbourhoods, especially cities, municipalities, municipal agencies, universities, urban design and placemaking organisations, NGOs, community-based organisations and technical/design partners.
HOBIVERSE can contribute a concrete pilot site in Vilnius, strong experience in non-formal education, access to children, young people and families, experience in community engagement, and motivation to build a meaningful European partnership around inclusive, sustainable and beautiful public spaces.
