Foundation for Landscape Protection
About
At the Foundation for Landscape Protection (FOK), we work collaboratively with communities, stakeholders, and policymakers to promote sustainable land-use practices, effective risk management, and conservation efforts.
In recent years, we have participated in several projects focused on climate risk assessment. These include the SAGA project, in which FOK was responsible for conducting risk analyses for five national- and European-level archives across the EU. We are also a partner in the INACO project, which focuses on strengthening the climate resilience of heritage in river basins and includes cooperation on the development of vulnerability assessment tools.
In 2025, we initiated two new partnerships focused on risk mitigation and climate change adaptation. These partnerships led to applications under two Interreg programmes, including proposals addressing risk assessment for cultural heritage assets in the Baltic Sea Region and a Central Europe capitalisation project aimed at strengthening cross-border cooperation for strategic climate adaptation planning.
Our initiatives focus on raising awareness, providing education, and supporting projects that protect the integrity of cultural heritage assets and the landscapes in which they are embedded. Together, we aim to foster a deeper appreciation of heritage values and ensure they can thrive in harmony with local communities.
