The Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU), based in Lviv, Ukraine, is a dynamic non-profit educational and research institution training a new generation of leaders to meet global and local challenges through high-quality education, personal growth, and active social responsibility. The University was inaugurated in 2002 and has grown and developed extensively over the last 23 years. It has seven degree-granting faculties - Social Sciences Faculty, Law Faculty, Theology and Philosophy Faculty, Humanities Faculty, Health Sciences Faculty, Applied Sciences Faculty and UCU Business School. It is known for its independent public position, the scope of its international outreach, and its commitment to value-based education, social responsibility, and academic integrity. The university aspires to train a new generation of students capable of sharing responsibility for their university’s achievements and combining their professional education with acquiring soft skills, as well as leadership and civic attitudes. UCU currently has over 2300 full-time equivalent students, over 900 faculty and staff, twelve bachelor’s degree programs, eighteen master’s degree programs, and three PhD programs. UCU also offers a wide range of certificate programs and short-term training/capacity building courses, arranges different summer schools, conferences, and seminars as well as initiates and implements anumber of social, educational, civil society and democracy promotion, media development etc. projects funded by the European and U.S. donors.
