About
The Architects’ Council of Europe is the representative organisation for architecture at the European level. Through its 53 Member Organisations, ACE represents the interests of over half a million architects from 36 countries in Europe.
ACE´s vision is to achieve greater recognition of the value of architecture – through engagement, outreach, research and advocacy – the cultural legacy of architecture and its contribution to the quality of life of citizens.
The Architects’ Council of Europe (ACE) brings extensive experience in European-funded projects, acting as a trusted partner at the intersection of policy, practice, and culture. For decades, ACE has been a strong advocate for high-quality architecture and a well-designed built environment, aligning its work with key European frameworks such as the Davos Baukultur Declaration and the European Commission report Towards a Shared Culture of Architecture. ACE is actively involved in key policy discussions and initiatives related to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD), cultural heritage, national renovation plans, and affordable housing. It also contributes to advancing the circular economy in the built environment, while supporting upskilling to ensure the workforce is prepared for the green and digital transition. Through this advocacy, ACE promotes architecture as a cultural, social, environmental, and economic asset for Europe.
ACE is an active partner in the New European Bauhaus initiative and has a solid track record in leading and contributing to communication and dissemination work packages and community engagement. This includes developing policy recommendations, guidelines, best practices, consultations, training and capacity building frameworks, including co-creation workshops; peer-learning activities, webinars; and engaging wide architectural and innovation cluster networks across Europe. Thanks to its strong professional network and institutional knowledge, ACE effectively connects EU objectives with architectural communities, ensuring impact, visibility, and long-term uptake of project results.
