designaustria

designaustria is Austria’s knowledge centre and interest association for design professionals. Founded in 1927, it began as a service organisation advocating for the interests of professional designers. Today, designaustria consists of and connects its 1,300 members from a broad range of creative disciplines.

Operating as an interface between the international economy and the creative industries, designaustria connects these two players through numerous exhibitions, conferences, publications, contests, and workshops. designaustria seeks to improve the prerequisites for an ideal environment for the design industry to work in. designaustria makes use of a large international network of professionals through its active memberships such as with the Bureau of European Design Associations (BEDA).

In 2021, designaustria became an official partner of the New European Bauhaus, the European Commission’s creative and interdisciplinary initiative supporting the goals of the European Green Deal.
