Strong understanding of neighbourhood change in United Kingdom
Director, Social Life CIC at Social Life Practice CIC
United Kingdom
About
What we bring to the consortium: Social Life are thought-leaders on the social dimensions of neighbourhood change. For over a decade we’ve worked across sectors in the UK and internationally to understand the relationship between people and place. In that time we have listened to thousands of residents and worked in over 50 neighbourhoods. We know what makes some places succeed and others fail. We have established Social Life Practice CIC (Community Interest Company) to translate a decade and more of deep insight into tangible, place-based action. Our CIC is designed to deliver grounded, lasting impact by dedicating resources to actively reshaping neighbourhood systems.
We hold strong knowledge of the social dimensions of neighbourhood change, local governance structures, social infrastructure, social planning mechanisms and neighbourhood strategies in the UK, and can serve as a demonstration site in a multilingual, multicultural urban context. Our local partnerships with municipalities, social housing operators and local organisations make us a credible and well-connected implementation partner.
We are looking for: A consortium coordinator (university, research institute or architecture firm) with expertise in spatial design, urban planning. We have partners (from local authorities, universities and architecture studios and urban researchers) interested in collaborating from various cities like Copenhagen, Chicago, Seoul, Cairo, London and more.
