About

As Dogus Teknoloji, we propose to develop a platform that supports the project’s NEB‑aligned objectives by collecting, analysing, and visualising soil‑related data gathered from sensors and complementary data sources. This platform will empower planners, citizens, local authorities, and other stakeholders to make data‑driven decisions on soil unsealing, climate resilience, nature‑based solutions, and territorial transformation.

The solution is composed of the following modules:

1. Soil Monitoring & Data Acquisition Layer

Inputs

  • On‑site soil sensors (moisture, compaction, permeability, organic carbon, temperature, pH, nutrient levels, salinity)

  • Sensors for environmental monitoring (air temperature, humidity, runoff, water retention after rainfall)

  • Remote sensing datasets (Copernicus, high‑resolution land cover maps)

  • GIS layers from municipalities (land use, zoning, green infrastructure)

  • Data from project partners (soil sampling, lab analyses, ecological inventories)

Outputs

  • Real‑time and historical soil health dashboards

  • Soil sealing intensity maps

  • Early‑warning triggers (e.g., heat island increase, soil degradation patterns)

  • Data streams exportable for scientific modelling

2. LLM‑Based Territorial Insights Assistant

An embedded AI assistant enabling users to ask questions such as:

  • “Which neighbourhood has the highest soil sealing level?”

  • “How did soil moisture and temperature change after installing permeable pavements?”

  • “Which interventions provide the highest biodiversity gain in rural pilots?”

Outputs

  • Natural‑language explanations

  • Automatically generated charts, maps, and decision briefs

  • User‑specific data views based on roles (citizens, local authorities, planners, researchers)

We will satisfy the below requirements of the call:

  • Develop innovative, regenerative and place-based planning and spatial design solutions that prevent soil sealing or promote the unsealing of currently sealed soils, improve soil health, support food systems transformation and enhance climate resilience and biodiversity (e.g., by mitigating urban heat islands and improving water management). These solutions should integrate nature-based[4], human-centred and regenerative approaches (e.g., ecosystem restoration, permeable pavements, green roofs, shared and community[1] gardens, or urban agriculture);

Stage
