About
ARETE Institute for Sustainable Prosperity is an interdisciplinary SSH-led organisation with extensive experience in Horizon Europe and related EU programmes, particularly in food systems transformation, community resilience, and place-based sustainability. We work at the interface of research, practice, and civic engagement, using Living Labs and participatory methods to translate New European Bauhaus values into real-life contexts.
At the same time, ARETE brings a strong tradition of scholar-activism, combining rigorous social science research with critical reflection on social justice, access to public goods, and the right to the city. We explore how environmental and spatial transformations affect everyday life, vulnerable groups, and community cohesion, ensuring that innovation remains socially meaningful and democratically grounded.
Within consortia, we contribute to stakeholder engagement, Living Lab coordination, SSH integration, dissemination, and impact design. We support partners in developing socially embedded pilots, strengthening community ownership, and ensuring long-term relevance beyond project funding.
