Citizen Science & Co-Creation for Climate Resilience & Circularity
Acting Manager at Comparative Research Network e.V.
Germany
About
Who we are: The Comparative Research Network (CRN) is a Berlin-based NGO with nearly two decades of experience in adult education, sustainability, civic engagement, social innovation and EU-funded projects (Erasmus+, Horizon2020, CERV, REC).
What we offer:
-
Methodological expertise: Validated frameworks for co-design, living labs and “multi-actor prototyping” to engage diverse stakeholders (citizens, local authorities, SMEs, vulnerable groups).
-
Citizen science & participatory mapping: Tools and curricula (e.g. from our citizen science, mapping and community engagement work) to enable communities to collect and interpret data, shape local plans, and influence decision-making.
-
Social inclusion & behaviour change: Strategies developed in CRN projects to overcome barriers — ensuring socially just, inclusive transitions in rural or urban settings.
-
Communication & dissemination: Experience in translating technical climate or circular solutions into accessible formats through storytelling, community reporting, and social mobilisation.
Our proposed role:
-
Partner as SSH / Civil Society & Community Engagement Lead.
-
Work package leadership on stakeholder involvement, living labs/co-creation, citizen science campaigns, dissemination & social impact assessment.
Ideal for:
-
Consortia preparing proposals under destinations for resilient communities, circular economy, urban or rural governance, sustainable consumption — whenever a strong societal dimension, community buy-in, or bottom-up approach is needed
-
Projects that need to ensure that technical or climate-resilience solutions are truly adopted, socially accepted, and embedded in local reality.
**Why CRN:
**We fill the often-missing SSH and community dimension. Many climate / circular / governance proposals struggle to embed real participation — CRN provides tested methods to make the human dimension central. At the same time we provided strong connections to local administrations and municpalities in Berlin and Brandenburg, ready to implement pilots in the communities.
