Tech partner for participatory neighbourhood mapping
Technical Lead at Geonet
Ireland
About
GeoNet is a tech company based in Ireland. We build apps and digital tools, mostly around geolocated and participatory data.
For PARTICIPATION-03 we can take care of the digital side of research on how inhabitants experience their neighbourhoods:
-
a participatory mapping app where residents mark the places they use, avoid or feel attached to, and how these affect their health and well-being
-
multilingual and accessible design, so different groups (older people, youth, migrants) can take part
-
repeat mapping for longitudinal or seasonal follow-ups
-
linking residents' input with GIS, survey and environmental data, so measured and experienced environments can be compared
-
dashboards for researchers, municipalities and planners
-
GDPR-compliant handling of citizen location data
-
outreach support through social media and short-form video to engage residents
One example of our work is Orbis (https://orbis.social), a mapping app where people map the places, communities and cultural spots that matter to them in their city.
We're looking to join a consortium as the technology partner, leading or contributing to a digital tools work package.
