Vanina Laura Celada

I am Vanina Laura Celada, 47 years old, born in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, into a family of Italian and Spanish descent. In 2003, I graduated with a degree in Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2012, I obtained a specialisation in Arabic, Islamic, and American-Arab Studies from the National University of Tres de Febrero. In 2022, I began my studies towards a Doctorate in Demography at the National University of Córdoba. Within this doctoral programme, I am specialising in migration and human mobility. The topic of my doctoral thesis is: 'Patterns of Migration and Interurban Mobility in Argentina: Measurement, Description, and Prediction through Digital Footprints during the Period 2010-2023.' I am particularly interested in the development of 'Computational Demography' and the use of digital footprints for studies on migration (both internal and international) and human mobility.

In 2024, I was awarded a doctoral scholarship co-funded by the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) and the National University of Córdoba (UNC), as part of research developed by the UNC Institute of Statistics and Demography. I will also be participating in research and training projects and programmes at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the National University of Córdoba and the Centre for Research and Studies on Culture and Society (CIECS) of the same university.
