Armenian State Pedagogical University Khachatur Abovyan has a rich history spanning over 100 years. While it’s impossible to list all its achievements, a few distinctive features set it apart from other higher education institutions in Armenia.
ASPU is the only university in Armenia that trains teachers for every subject included in the general education curriculum. It is also the sole institution that prepares specialists in primary education and class teachers for elementary schools. Additionally, ASPU stands out for its Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education, which trains teachers to meet special educational needs (SEN).
Uniquely, ASPU is the only university in the country that prepares chess teachers and houses a dedicated Chess Research Institute, recognized not only in the region but globally for its unique mission.
In recent years, ASPU has been actively pursuing international accreditation and is participating in several European educational programs aimed at enhancing the quality of education.
I’m Rita Gevorgyan, Head of the Economics and Management Division at the Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU). With a strong background in administration, I’ve developed and implemented strategies to improve educational quality and student outcomes.
I teach Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Decision Making, Marketing. I also have academic and administrative experience at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
My research interests include performance assessment, innovation management, and strategic development. I continue to advance my skills and recently completed a Data Analytics course, gaining practical experience with tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Python.
I have been involved in various international projects and collaborated with institutions across Europe and the U.S. (George Washington University, Middlesex University and etc.). I also recently participated in the Professorship Program at Macerata University, where I gained valuable experience that I have shared with my colleagues to enhance both faculty development and the learning experience for our students.
I believe that through knowledge sharing and collaboration, we can foster innovation in higher education.
