"Celebrating 30 years of MSCA - Curiosity that changes the world"

In 2026, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) celebrate their 30th anniversary. Over the past three decades, the programme has supported more than 150,000 researchers at every stage of their careers, from doctoral candidates to postdoctoral researchers and research managers, and has counted 23 Nobel Prize laureates among its fellows, supervisors and project coordinators.

Since its inception, the MSCA has been driven by a simple yet powerful vision: advancing research excellence by investing in talented researchers and fostering international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral collaboration. Over 30 years, it has become a cornerstone of European research and innovation, fostering groundbreaking discoveries, opening new fields of inquiry, and demonstrating how curiosity-driven research can shape a better future.

The European Commission is organising a high-level event celebrating three decades of scientific excellence and the remarkable community behind the programme. Hear from policymakers, leading researchers, Nobel laureates and outstanding early-career scientists from across Europe as we reflect on the MSCA's lasting impact, explore the opportunities ahead, and celebrate the transformative power of curiosity-driven science for Europe's future, prosperity and competitiveness.
