The Lisbon School of Engineering (ISEL), an organic unit of the Polytechnic University of Lisbon, is a distinguished higher education institution committed to excellence in scientific and technical education in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. With around 4,000 students, ISEL provides high-quality, applied, and hands-on training across a wide range of engineering programs. Its faculty comprises experts actively engaged in international research in areas such as applied mathematics, chemistry and physics, earth and environmental sciences, biotechnology, advanced materials, photonics, cybersecurity, energy, intelligent systems, manufacturing, industrial management, and control systems. Faculty members are integrated into prestigious research centers contributing to scientific production, technology transfer, industry partnerships, and supervision within MSc and PhD programs. ISEL acts as the Management Entity of several FCT-funded R&D units and participates in other highly reputable national research centers, reflecting the recognized excellence of research carried by its faculty and researchers.
