"Functional Soft Matter: Stimuli-Responsive Materials and Additive Manufacturing Routes for Soft Robotics and Wearable Systems

About
This project develops stimuli-responsive soft materials: e.g., but not limited to light-/ pH, temperature-switchable ionotronic gels, fluidic artificial muscles, and printable actuators via advanced additive manufacturing. Combining bio-based polymer chemistry with tailored 3D-printing routes, we aim to create reversible, sustainable soft actuators for wearables, human-machine interfaces, and soft robotics, overcoming key limits of current systems: irreversibility, limited biocompatibility, and reliance on non-renewable matrices.
