Description: The Bahir Dar Energy Center (Ethiopia) offers strong technical expertise for consortia targeting the MSCA Doctoral Networks 2026 call. Led by Dr. Molla Asmare, our team brings deep specialized knowledge in multi-physics modeling (COMSOL/ANSYS), materials informatics, and the experimental investigation of electrochemical systems.

We provide comprehensive research capabilities in:
- Green Hydrogen & Clean Fuels: Solid oxide fuel cells (direct ammonia SOFCs) and electrolyzers (alkaline, PEM, AEM, SOEC).
- Advanced Energy Storage: Next-generation batteries (Zinc-Air) utilizing biomass-derived carbon electrocatalysts and gel electrolytes.
- Socio-Technical Dimensions: Energy justice, regional mini-grid integration, and the gender-energy nexus in Africa.
We offer a vibrant environment for hosting or co-supervising doctoral candidates, backed by established MSc/PhD programs in sustainable energy engineering.
