UrbanizeHub is the leading urban sustainable Lab in central and Eastern Europe, offering innovative solutions for cities. It serves as a vibrant hub of ideas, opinions, projects, and news focused on smart cities and sustainable urban development. Our services range from strategic development and policies to urban regeneration projects. We also educate and inspire people through our campaigns and events. We believe in engaging local communities and stakeholders to ensure that our projects are inclusive and responsive to the needs of residents.

We bring hands-on experience from European collaborative initiatives (e.g., Horizon Europe, Mission Cities/NetZeroCities-type programmes) and local implementation, translating strategic goals into practical, locally grounded interventions. UrbanizeHub works across the full urban innovation cycle, from concept design, stakeholder coordination, pilot structuring, to scaling, combining technical expertise, social innovation and participatory governance.

In practice, UrbanizeHub contributes to urban planning and concept development through territorial diagnostics, needs assessments, stakeholder mapping, and the structuring of integrated interventions (e.g., neighbourhood regeneration, green transition and climate adaptation measures, sustainable mobility concepts). We support cities in producing concrete outputs such as action plans, implementation frameworks, thematic guides, and pilot-ready concepts, ensuring alignment with EU priorities while remaining feasible for local delivery and long-term ownership.

UrbanizeHub has strong expertise in citizen engagement, capacity building and dissemination, designing and facilitating co-creation processes (workshops, consultations, co-design sessions, hackathons, and multi-stakeholder working groups) that integrate citizens’ needs into solutions and policies. We also deliver training, peer-learning, mentoring, and good-practice exchanges for municipalities and local actors, and lead communication and dissemination through campaigns, educational content, public events, and community building.

Some of our projects include:

• ReGreeneration (Horizon Europe): urban regeneration in vulnerable neighbourhoods through nature-based solutions, digital tools and participatory processes;

• UrbanWise (NetZeroCities – Pilot Cities Programme): integrated regeneration and citizen engagement to support local decarbonisation pathways;

• M100 – Towards Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities: capacity building, technical assistance, and engagement for cities advancing climate neutrality;

• UrbanLab for Green Cities: an urban innovation programme combining hackathons and incubation to develop and test green urban solutions in partnership with municipalities.
