Expert Partner on Soil Biodiversity and Soil Health Assessment

Associate Professor at Universitat de Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

About

We offer expertise as a partner in Horizon Europe soil health projects, with a focus on sustainable soil management, soil monitoring, and impact assessment. We are experts on Soil Ecology assessment, from bacteria to larger organisms through eDNA techniques (amplicon sequencing and metagenomics). We have been both coordinators and partners in previous EU funded projects, creating a powerful framework to assess soil natural capital, soil-based nature contributions' to people and their impact on human well-being. We have a strong network of collaborators across the EU in fields like soil science and ecology but also economy and sociology related to the soil environment. We can contribute to data collection and analysis, development of indicators, and evaluation of soil health practices across different land uses and biomes. We are interested in collaborating with research institutes, SMEs, farmers’ organisations, and public authorities, particularly in projects of the Soil Mission and Cluster 6 calls.
