About
The Marine Research Centre of the University of Vigo offers the following expertise for contributing as a partner to the calls HORIZON-MISS-2026-03-OCEAN-01 and HORIZON-MISS-2026-03-OCEAN-02:
-
experience with Galician fisheries systems and communities, where we have years of experience in studying climate risks, vulnerability and resilience of fishing practices and fishers wellbeing.

experience with conceptual frameworks on adaptatoin and resilience for marine systems, including fisheries and Marine protected Areas.
-
experience with social survey analysis, stakeholder participation and co-creation, inclusion of LEK and Local Knowledge on management tools, and applying the gender perspective in fisheries research;
-
we have some tools already designed and tested for MPA social-ecological vulnerability, conservation and restoration climate effectiveness; socio-ecological risk assessments; fishwrie ssustainability indices, including experience in Galicia (NW Atlantic) and elsewhere.
