About

The Marine Research Centre of the University of Vigo offers the following expertise for contributing as a partner to the calls HORIZON-MISS-2026-03-OCEAN-01 and HORIZON-MISS-2026-03-OCEAN-02:

  • experience with Galician fisheries systems and communities, where we have years of experience in studying climate risks, vulnerability and resilience of fishing practices and fishers wellbeing.

  • experience with conceptual frameworks on adaptatoin and resilience for marine systems, including fisheries and Marine protected Areas.

  • experience with social survey analysis, stakeholder participation and co-creation, inclusion of LEK and Local Knowledge on management tools, and applying the gender perspective in fisheries research;

  • we have some tools already designed and tested for MPA social-ecological vulnerability, conservation and restoration climate effectiveness; socio-ecological risk assessments; fishwrie ssustainability indices, including experience in Galicia (NW Atlantic) and elsewhere.

  • omics and functional analysis of marine organisms

  • host–microbiome interactions

  • stress and resilience indicators

  • AI applied to omics and functional inference
