Bio-inspired Sensing for Aquatic Monitoring
Researcher at TalTech
Tallinn, Estonia
About
TalTech's Center for Biorobotics brings world-class expertise in bio-inspired robotics, underwater sensing technologies, and autonomous marine systems to address critical ocean monitoring challenges.
Our expertise covers:
-
Biomimetic underwater sensors inspired by fish lateral line and whisker-like tactile systems for hydrodynamic perception
-
Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) with advanced navigation and obstacle avoidance
-
Real-time acoustic monitoring systems for marine species identification and behavior analysis
-
Data analysis and signal processing for distributed sensor networks
-
Extensive experience in field work and deployments in different geographic and weather conditions (from Arctic to Caribbean)
We seek partners with complementary expertise in computational technologies, marine sciences, ecology, or ocean technology deployment to develop scalable solutions for the EU Ocean Mission. Our lab has proven track record in both leading and participating in successful EU projects.
Keywords: marine biology, Digital Twins, Oceanography, Ocean science, climate resilience, Baltic sea,
