Cooperation Opportunity: Urban Climate Adaptation & Energy Efficiency Solutions
unit Officer at Bandırma Municipality
Bandırma, Türkiye
About
Bandırma currently participates in the Urban Transitions Mission (UTM) City2City Program, the ClimateFIT Replication Program, the NetZeroCities Twin Learning initiative, and the CIVITAS Elaborator Observing Programme. These engagements have strengthened our institutional capacity, expanded our international network, and deepened our understanding of innovative climate solutions.
Although we do not have an ongoing Horizon Europe project at the moment, we are fully prepared and motivated to join new consortia as a reliable and proactive municipal partner. Bandırma Municipality can contribute in several key areas:
-
Acting as a pilot city to test and validate innovative climate and energy solutions
-
Providing access to public buildings, municipal facilities, and urban spaces for demonstrations
-
Supporting stakeholder engagement, participatory activities, co-creation workshops, and awareness campaigns
-
Sharing local data, insights from existing municipal practices, and feedback from real-life implementation
-
Contributing to policy development, long-term planning, and climate adaptation strategies
Our main areas of interest include:
-
Energy-efficient and smart municipal buildings (BEMS, smart sensors, digital twins)
-
Renewable energy integration and citizen empowerment
-
Sustainable mobility, street transformation, and active mobility solutions
-
Climate adaptation, nature-based solutions, and urban resilience
-
Data-driven urban management and digital innovation
Bandırma is a dynamic mid-sized city with a clear sustainability vision and a strong commitment to climate neutrality. We welcome cooperation with municipalities, universities, SMEs, research institutions, and NGOs that are looking for capable municipal partner for Horizon Europe and other EU-funded climate and energy projects.
