From Source to Sea: Reducing Microplastics and PFAS in European Waters
Managing Director at SATOORNIK UG
Dresden, Germany
About
Microplastics and PFAS contamination in wastewater pose significant threats to freshwater ecosystems and human health. This project implements the industrially designed SGen‑I S‑20 instrument, which achieves over 99% efficiency in removing microplastics and PFAS particles directly at wastewater outlets. By integrating advanced separation technologies, the project demonstrates a scalable, industrial-ready solution for upstream water remediation. Outcomes include reduced pollutant loads entering natural waters, improved environmental compliance, and a model for industrial adoption across European wastewater systems, contributing to sustainable water management and the EU’s zero-pollution objectives.
