Moyseion

Moyseion is not just a hotel in the Sassi of Matera; it is a place where you can experience ancient lifestyles, from the Late Neolithic to the Magna Graecia period (VI millennium BC - III Century BC), in a physical and emotional way. Through music, dance, scents, and gastronomy, our spaces blend modern comfort with ancient dwellings and artifacts reproduced using experimental archaeological techniques. Ceramics and other artefacts are reproductions, but the locations are ‘authentic’. In fact, it is documented that caves and hypogea have been inhabited continuously from the Late Neolithic to the present day. For this reason, this is called MOYSEION.
