BioDec provides design and implementation of IT infrastructures. The company has been the first bioinformatics Italian company and bioinformatics (genomics, proteomics, high throughput computing) is our core expertise. We also provide consultancy and training on DevOps, on a wide range of use cases and technologies. We manage the Linux infrastructure that we build.

The BioDec bioinformatic computing platform is a set of programs to build a computing cluster for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and bioinformatics. Modern NGS techniques allow to accumulate a large amount of genomic, proteomic and genetical data easily and at low costs: this amount of data allows researchers to performing analyses and simulations otherwise impossible, and therefore having results and findings of great value for drug design, vaccines research and medical diagnostics and therapy (in particular the growing field of gene therapy).

Among our tools, we have the BMOL (BioMedical Object Librarian) a solution to manage privacy-first large sets of omics data and the DBGen (DataBase of Genomics) to integrate proprietary omics data and public -- gnomAD, cADD, ClinVar, etcetera -- datasets of annotations.
