About
OPERA is a software platform being developed to collect, organise and manage clinical and organ preservation data throughout the transplantation pathway, from donor assessment to recipient follow-up.
The platform aims to bring together information that is often scattered across clinical records, preservation devices and separate databases. By connecting donor characteristics, organ preservation parameters, transplant information and follow-up outcomes, OPERA provides a structured foundation for reviewing data, conducting research and understanding the factors associated with transplant outcomes.
OPERA is designed to support both cold storage and machine perfusion workflows. Its development focuses on structured data collection, clear visualisation of parameters over time and traceability, helping clinical and research teams use the information collected across the different stages of transplantation.
A central part of the product’s design is its readiness for future AI-powered analysis. Organising data consistently and linking them to observed outcomes can support the development and validation of predictive models. Future applications could include organ suitability assessment and transplant outcome prediction, subject to appropriate clinical validation and applicable regulatory requirements.
The platform is intended for transplant centres, organ preservation teams and research organisations seeking a more connected approach to transplant data management. It is being developed through collaboration between biomedical engineers, software developers and clinicians, with an emphasis on data quality, usability and integration into clinical workflows.
